Senna PE, or senna extract, is primarily used as a stimulant laxative for the short-term relief of constipation. The different grades, such as Europe Grade and those with 20%, 40%, 60%, or 80% sennosides, refer to the concentration of the active compound, but the fundamental application remains the same. The higher concentrations are used for dosage and formulation purposes in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products.
